New era for dance school

The team at Clare Valley School of Dance have been busily building and renovating a new performing arts space for the community.

Celebrating with an open day on Sunday, May 5, with dance workshops, petting zoo, face painting, craft stall, costume box stall, craft, demonstrations, sausage sizzle and grass games throughout the day.

Opened in 2018, with an initial group of 60 dancers, the school has built a reputation for its excellent range of programs, and has since grown to about 320 students ranging from 18 months to 86 years of age, travelling from as far as Melrose and Port Wakefield.

The newly opened studio is located in the old Clare Sports Club within The Valleys Lifestyle Centre.

It has been extensively renovated by Ben Seymon and Luke Mensforth with the help of endless community volunteers.

The space now offers two fully fitted dance studios, bathrooms, waiting room with viewing windows, a uniform shop and reception area, and has been beautifully decorated with artwork lovingly created by local artist Holly Geyer.
